For First-Time Visitors
Welcome!
We’re delighted to have you at SUNNY YOU Yoga Studio.
Our studio specializes in aerial yoga, which is still quite rare here in Kyoto—especially low-air aerial yoga, where the hammock is set closer to the ground. It’s a unique, gentle style that’s perfect for beginners and experienced yogis alike.

Because part of your body always remains in contact with the mat, this style is especially comfortable for those who are prone to motion sickness, feel uneasy with heights, or are new to aerial yoga.
Using the hammock as a gentle support throughout the lesson makes it easy to relax into each movement. Even if your body feels stiff or you’re not used to physical exercise, you can release tension, stretch, and loosen up with ease. Many poses are done seated or lying down, making this class popular with participants over 70 and those who prefer a gentler form of exercise.
Benefits of Low-Air Relaxation
●The hammock provides gentle support, making it easy to release tension. Even if your body feels stiff or you’re not used to physical activity, you can comfortably stretch and loosen up.
●Each pose is held with care, allowing you to feel your breath throughout your whole body. This brings deep relaxation and a chance to reconnect with yourself.
●By taking time to gently loosen the spine, you can also relieve discomfort in related areas such as the shoulders, neck, lower back, chest, pelvis, and sacrum—places that are often prone to tension and pain.
●Using gravity to stretch the body helps improve flexibility and can ease common issues like lower back pain, stiff shoulders, arm fatigue, and sciatica.
●As we age, hip mobility often decreases. If you feel tightness or blockage in this area, the hammock helps stimulate lymph flow around the hips, leaving your groin area feeling lighter and refreshed after class.

Important Notes for Aerial Yoga
●Please remove all accessories such as earrings, necklaces, and watches, as they may damage the hammock.
●Extremely long nails or nails with big stones, charms, or other protrusions are not allowed.
●Long hair should be tied back.
●For clothing, please avoid tops or bottoms that expose the underarms or knees, as they can cause friction or hygiene concerns.
●If you have high blood pressure, a history of dislocation, recent surgery, or are prone to motion sickness, please inform us in advance.
●Aerial yoga is not available for participants who are pregnant.
●Please allow 1–2 hours after eating before joining the class.
